I also have a GTX 970 graphics card. I do not think it is the graphics card that needs upgrading. Your CPU might need upgrading. do the test again but with no other apps running.

Comment: the GPU stock blower isn't up to the job of running this bench as it hits thermal throttling where you see dips in the chart. This prevents me from getting a perfect 11. I have made sure it is clear of dust, and even re-did the thermal compound. Didn't help. Debating either water cooling it or replacing it with next gen GPUs when they arrive.

I don't even know why I try to do this with my "MSI GTX 580 Lightning twin frozr 3 / 1.5 DDR5" (the one with the blue fans)

But my config is capable!!! (as you can see, I have some wired results)

 

i7 3770k:  3.5-3.9Ghz (in OC: 4.7Ghz stable at ~1.3v with Corsaire H100i)

GTX 580: in OC juste like a tuto on YouTube...

16G DDR3 at 2200mhz

1To SSD Samsung 850 EVO

mother-board: ASUS Maximus IV Gene-z gen 3

 

This graphics card is juste super old now but so worth it wen my father bought it for my brother...

Obviouslly, the results are not constant and the 1.5G DDR5 is not enough; but damnn I can't bealive that...

By the way, the processor's OC is just useless for the VR TEST...and i dont know if the HDMI of the GC is 1.3 or 1.4 or less
