Steam isn't the savoir of PC gaming that its touted to be, its just the one we deserve considering how many people defend their truly awful practices. When it was introduced it was hated and to this day it remains an obnoxious way to ram DRR onto everyone. I will never understand how people can love steam, the one feature I care about is auto updating and even that I want more control over so I can roll back, everything else I can leave it its just bloat getting in the way.
