I built my first computer the other day, and when I turned it on, there was no output on the monitor. The fans turned on when I started it, and I plugged my HDMI cord into the graphics card. I was wondering if maybe their wasn't enough power to the graphics card? Everything seems to be wired correctly. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

When I turned it on after I finished building, there was nothing on the screen.

By default, it SHOULD use the built in GPU on your CPU.  Plug the monitor into the motherboard video output and go into the BIOS, change the default display to your GPU.

I did plug it into the motherboard HDMI port, and there was still nothing.

Had the same issue when i built my first pc, what fixed it for me was resetting the bios by removing the cmos battery for 5min. also try plugging into your motherboard connections instead of your gpu if that fails.

Where is the cmos battery on the motherboard?

It's the flat watch-battery thing you see on the mobo.  Unplug PSU from wall plug, press the power button on your PC on and ground yourself, pull the battery out.

Try plugging the cable into the dedicated GPU, I've never had a problem with that. Typically the issue is that it doesn't display via the motherboard because it detects a GPU in the PCIe slot.
