Opinions 1.9 Minecraft update?

I just tested out the new minecraft update and I wanted to know if I was the only one who thinks it is terrible. The combat bar is disabled by default (atleast for me it was), and once I found out that I needed to enable it the option is put it by the crosshair or by the toolbar. On a 27" display putting it at the toolbar means I can't see it unless I look all the way down to it and the crosshair bar is completely garbage, the thing is invisible when looking at stone! I'm also pissed that you can't dual wield weapons (which I guarantee someone will make a mod for, if they already haven't). IMO they should allow you to block with your sword again like it used to be and if you have something in your other hand it removes that block ability. That would make using one sword useful if you need to block and dual wielding would allow you to attack twice but have no blocking ability.

 

And why on Earth allow us to swing on the cooldown still? Why not make it so you CAN'T swing until it is done? It would make much more sense and provide players with a little more feeback than a stone-grey bar below their crosshair

IMO 1.9 is a pure trash update. Considering how most of the Mojang staff hate Notch now I would even go as far as to say they could have made the update this bad on purpose to spite Notch.
 As a very experienced and strong pvper, I can say that 95% of pvp skill has been removed due to the hit timer. Even if servers remove the timer I still won't ever play 1.9 factions due to all of the other crappy changes like god apple nerfs

I used to make PVP maps for the xbox 360 and got bored. By the time I moved to PC minecraft was so boring for me. The only thing I ever did was design houses lol

I haven't took any interest in Minecraft since the first 1.9 snapshot but it seems so hackable with all the new PVP features. IMO, Minecraft hasn't had any good updates since 1.3

But just to let you know, pvp is a combination of a few things. I'm not gonna talk about how things like ping or packet loss come into play, but high level pvp is mainly about the knockback you take. If you time hits right you can make it so that your opponent cannot hit you at all even if they are aiming right at you and clicking as fast as they can. This is called combo-ing.

 

I know that things like strafing are important but once you get to a place where you are only fighting highly experienced players, no one really misses that often so combos are what you go for. That isn't ALL of pvp, though. It would take me a long time to explain everything. I'll at least leave a video of two highly skilled players duking it out so you can see what it looks like.

 

 

EDIT: k so instead of a 1v1 I brought a video of someone just rekting a bunch of people in ranked matches lol

Agreed TBH.....The pvp combat is pretty much mashing and clicking in hand to hand combat wise...Does it take skill? No...You can strafe as much as you want and you could still get your ass handed to you especially when that person does the same thing...

 

There is no skill in pvp hand to hand combat wise to my personal experience, you can strafe yeah but so can your opponent too so not exactly skill if your opponent can do the same...Now when you talk about shooting arrows, Then that is when timing your arrows right and all that stuff comes in, so that part takes skill,

It's just like the other guy. You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about : P pvp has a lot more to it than just strafing. When I'm on a server and people tell me there is no skill in pvp I often give them full diamond armor and a diamond sword while I have full iron and an iron sword and I kick their asses every time even tho my gear is significantly weaker. Sometimes they REALLY don't know what they are doing and I can just strafe all around them but sometimes they can at least aim well so I start comboing them to death.

Okay you killed people with less armor so what? How does that define skill, go into specific of the skill rather than the story..

When I meant hand to hand combat, I meant swordfights no fishingpoles, no flint and steel, or anything else just swords

Are you 10? No really I know what you mean as I was a hardcore minecrafter for 4 years straight and have over 12,000 hours. The game was really fun but it sorta grew old and the thing that killed it was building a PC. On my crappy laptop all I could play was minecraft but now I can play GTA V at 4K which is way more fun. But I still miss the days of playing so long my back would hurt

On a similar note, I started out my PC gaming career playing Minecraft on my crappy laptop. That was before I got a real gaming rig and can play other games like The Witcher 3 and GTA V.

The amount of ignorance and stupidity in these two posts is too damn high. I gave you enough examples. If you kids still wanna think that there is no skill in minecraft pvp other then fast clicking then I suppose it's impossible to talk sense into some people even tho I have actual solid proof. I'm not trying to shove this in your face or anything, I'm just defending my point that continuously gets challenged and yet you refuse to understand.

Wow Salty level has gone high...I asked a question so you can make it clear for me if I am getting the point not as as insult to show that minecraft shows no skill to PVP mind me I never played the game for a while..you are just bringing unnecessary hostile behavior that shouldn't have been brought in the first place instead of just making things clear to me or correcting me..So mind a player that hasn't touched minecraft for a while will ya?  I ask questions so I understand not to insult..Keep that in mind as you leave this thread 

 

So I will come up with my own conclusions...Does minecraft pvp take skill in terms of sword to sword PVP? NO even with strafing it doesn't even with simply timing hits right it isn't unless you can provide a better example..

So timing hits just right = comboing?  So how would a player time his hits right correctly especially So many factors going into that comboing (like latency that would prevent the comboing to happen and randomly give your opponent the advantage instead)...Timing hits in minecraft pvp is at times hard and it is difficult to call it skill if there are many factors affecting it...Clicking the left button to get the right hit on an enemy is not considered a combo, using flint and steel + bows and then your sword is considered a combo from what I have learned from minecraft a while ago<< If you feel like correcting me on that, we can PM

LOL, my sides hurt for some reason, but believe what ever you believe in guess..So timing your hits right with no other further explanation is considered solid proof....Yeah ok I mean its so convincing right?
