do you have to play games to get trading cards?

so i have 3 TC drops on 4 games all bit trip i never got a drop before for them. so i ran all of them all night just to get the cards to sell them. but i got no drops and all games have 10 hours on them.

 

do you have to be playing to get a drop? or was it because i had all 4 running at the same time?

You get drops from the "active" game that you're playing. I.e the one that steam shows you are playing. There's no way steam knows that you're actually playing the game. It just needs to be running.

It's strange that you have no drops after 10 hours though. you should have them all by then. Are you sure you had drops on the active game?

You can only get a few cards from playing. Then you need booster packs which are random and extremely rare.

yes i have 3 cards still remaining per game. i had 0 drops from the games yet

that seems like something that can get you banned
