Do you Google's DNS servers? Or your ISPs?

Misanthrope

Just out of curiosity cause way back when I set up this machine to use Google's DNS servers (8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4) since I noticed that my ISP provided ones were taking positively ages to resolve and really causing unresponsiveness and overall crapness and even time outs. A few minutes ago I had a small hickup and was looking at my shit and noticed I'm still using it and it's been over a year or so since I built this rig originally.

What do you guys use?

Since the Norwegian Government has demanded ISP's to block certain websites in their DNS-servers, I am using Google's public DNS on all devices to bypass.

What do they block? Is it porn like the Brits or what?

There are currently 8 sites being blocked, one of which being PirateBay.

I'm using their IPv6 DNS servers at the moment. My ISPs v4 DNS servers are faster according to DNSBench.

Something like that. They should be blocking google.com as well, since it also is a search engine and it will probably give you access to more illegal download-links than ThePirateBay.

Funny note, the Norwegian Pirate Party (yes, an official political party), set up an open DNS-server within minutes of the law being passed.

I use Google's IPv4 and IPv6 DNS servers.  They are faster and more reliable.

I have an IPSec Site-to-Site with 2 other people and we run 6 domain controllers in total (2 per site), each of which is a DNS server that eventually forwards to Google DNS.
