I'll give the same answer I've given at least 100 times for the same question: painting fains will, in 9/10 cases, either break then or make them inefficient.

They may be fine for a while, but because paint adds a layer of colour which adds weight, they will usually come out uneven, therefore overtime damaging the bearings and motor leading to a premature death.

or maybe the rubber gromits???

The housing is still what channels airflow so will still affect it and the rubber bits would not be a good surface for paint to adhere to and uou would end up with a cracked paint mess that would end up in your system!

You can also buy different colours of their rubber grommets. And they also make an industrial version of the nf f12 which is black with brown rubber grommets.

I wouldn't suggest painting the fins but I think painting the outer housing wouldn't hurt. I mean it doesn't move

If you want black Noctua fans, get the LTT edition, the PPC Industrial or Redux models.

Don't break $30 fans because you don't like their colour

i believe you can dye them if you mask off the fan housing well. I remember I was able to dye the nfp12 but the fan was more or less removable.
