Iphone messages disappear after changing date

suchamoneypit

After I changed the date in my iphone to like 1980 messing around, when I set it back to normal time my messages first were empty, then all previous conversations appeared 10 minutes later but the conversations remained blank. Anyway to get them back?

I assume you may get them in 36 years?

LOL Ok seriously. Have you tried restarting the phone to see if the messages will sync back up?

Be happy that, Apple will be releasing a fix for the 1970 date bug, and will even plunge you into a retro like experience, if you choose to set to that date. So nice of Apple. But, why did you made it into 1980? Might aswell just break your Iphone, and hopefully in the next 5 hours get it working, otherwise run to see a JerryRigEverything video on how to physically fix it, for now, until Apple releases the update. As far as messages goes, i dunno... might as well just have backed up the messages?

I doubt it will disappear. You should also check to be sure iMessage is turned on. I dont know if they were iMessages but the connection to the server could have been severed when you changed the date that far.

yeah the recovery said it found nothing and restarting did not change anything. Tried turning off various options on and off and restarting the app whilst doing so.

Might be time to call Apple. There might be nothing they can do. Have you ever backed up your phone to your PC?

I doubt there is anything they can do. There was nothing critical in my messages Its just disappointing to lose all of it. I have not backed it up.

Yeah well i would be sure to make backups when you go to do crazy things on your phone. Sorry to hear about the messages but glad there was nothing important.
