Replacing cpu cooler

Go to solution Solved by Narnash,

Go for the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO a solid and cheap cooler.

Normaly you don't need to take your CPU out to clean it, if you replace your your cooler you only have to clean the "metal" (heatsink) of the CPU. Clean your CPUs heatsink with some isopropyl alcohohl (99%) or another concentrated alcohol, make a small amount of thermal paste on it and set the cooler on it (ysearch for videos if you never done it)

EDIT: and if you do it right you don`t have to buy a new motherboard if you want to replace the CPU :D

Im going to replace my cpu cooler (intel stock cooler) with something else, these are my options: http://www.inet.se/filter?CategoryId=140&properties.Index=446&properties%5B446%5D.Id=446&properties%5B446%5D.Parent=555

what should i get? Do i have to buy a new motherboard if i decide to take my cpu out of my motherboard to clean it.

//Thanks, and sorry for bad english :)

straight up be quiet ShadowRock 2. its cool and quiet. it was close to hitting my RAM but it keeps my CPU temps on full load when not OCd at about 50C and when OCd they max out at 64C, the processor i have is a I5 4690K btw

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

I'm with @GamerMan on this one. I recently bought one for a small daily rig I have and I saw better than expected results. Below is a speadsheet with my temperature comparison.

I used it on my old rig and it was great! Temps were modest on my old FX6300 :)
