[HELP] Have Windows 10 Installed, Need to ADD Windows 7 Dual Boot

JaceB

I been messing with Windows since 3.1, I have dual booted operating systems tons in the past, so this isn't my first time around.

What is new to me is UEFI and SecureBoot and all this other trash, that is making my life at the moment a living hell. (Ok, slight exaggeration)

What is the easiest route? At this point IDK even care, if its gonna cost me money for software or a new drive I just want it working, (I'm ok spending up to a couple hundred bucks if needed)

So here is what I have.

Asus Maximus Hero VIII

6700k

Windows 10 - Currently installed on a Samsung 950 (m.2)

All I want is to be able to install Windows 7, without having to wipe out my current Windows 10 installation.

I tried to install Windows 7 on a new partition - Nope

I tried installing Windows 7 on a new drive - Nope

I have not tried taking out the m.2 and attempting to install Windows 7 on a new drive, because I am not 100% sure that won't mess up W10  when I reinstall the m2.(Though I "think" this might be the correct way to go.)

Create a separate boot partition for the Windows 7 ISO

I've got dual boot 8.1 and 10

All I did was make a new partition or use a different drive. Put the OS onto a USB drive and use rufus in GPT and UEFI to make a bootable ISO on the USB. Restart the PC and get it to boot off the USB drive, install windows to the new partition/drive.. done.

Now when I boot up I get the option of which I want to boot into GUI style :)

That is literally how I did it, nothing fancy in there apart from UEFI and GPT same as my current setup.

Only works if you have 7/8 and want to add 10.

Not if you have 10 and want to add 7.

that can be done both ways
