Hi everyone im trying to build a gaming pc on a budget using lga1151, is the pentium g4400 worth it?

Not really, since you're strictly limited to two cores and two threads. What's your budget for the overall build?

No it isn't. If you're on a really low budget then get the pentium anniversary and a h81 mobo (lga 1150)

Get a i5 6500, no need to upgrade the motherboard and how much RAM does it have.

with the dual cores its really a matter of which games exactly, anything that uses more than two threads will be iffy, or as logan put it in the latest tek: "how is it? oh its UUUUEEGGGHHHR" (article about the rabbit brain, if you want to go look it up)

Forgive me for asking, but the G4400 is the lowest tier CPU for that socket so what is your current CPU? I don't see how you're upgrading.

Why do you want DDR4? Not like there's huge performance upgrade... Your i5 would smack that pentium off, btw. I'd rather you wait until you've earned more money so you can get a Skylake i5.

So that means you don't have a Skylake system...

 

There's no point in going DDR4 yet. A G4400 would be a downgrade rather than an upgrade. You should save up more, since that CPU is still more than capable for the time being.
