Hello LTT community, I would like to ask some of you a question. The question is what is the best GPU 50$ can buy.

HD 7770 used or R7 260X depending on the prices.

 

All of those games are more CPU bound than GPU. Dark souls 1 is so bad optimized you will get lags even with high end system.

Im Using an old asus radeon ati 4850 graphics card that is working pretty well for me. not sure how much it costs though. i just bought a $50 desktop that i use and that was in it.

I can't tell where you are from, but assuming you are from the states you should check on ebay and look for a 7870 or 7850. I have seen sold items there in the range of 50-60 bucks and a 7850 is basically an R9 270 so actually a decent card. Still you will have to be patient since some units go for way more.

 

The 750ti seems to sell for quite a bit more and is not more powerful, so AMD would be the better price/performance choice here.

 

Please try not to go any lower than those cards, you will be disappointed.

For 50$, might as well stay with Intel integrated graphics. Only option is used, and even so, it has to be a pretty well mooded seller.

DO NOT buy a GT610. It will not play those game well at all. Do as everyone else suggested and get something used, but more powerful or save up at least $120-150 if you must buy something new (GTX 750 or R7 360 minimum). Anything less will just be a disappointment and waste of money.

GTX 580

GTX 660? - good buy for 50 dollar that...

AMD 7850

And lowest AMD/NVIDIA cards to consider are 6950 & GTX 480.

 

Most powerful of those is the 580 but it uses a lot of power but comes 2nd to the 480's power consumption and huge heat output.

Just looking on my local classifieds for used GPUs (kijiji), I found a GTX 650Ti boost for $70 or best offer. That would give FAR better performance for the money. Could probably get it for $50 if I negotiated. The deals are out there, you just have to look. ;)
