which one !!

Go to solution Solved by SirWendall,

I like my GTX 970 SSC. Never used a AMD card but it does have more VRAM. For me I like Nvidia's features better but that's just me.

Hi

i'am planing to build a gaming pc, but i dont know what GPU is more proper to use if it's a msi 970 GTX 4g or msi 780 GTX

i wont be playing on 1440p or 4K, but i do care about the in-game graphics quality i want to be able to play all the latest games at best quality possible, but since i will run games at 1080p i do want it to perform good or more while Anti-Aliasing is on .. some of the HARDWARE components i will be using for this build

intel i5-4690k cpu and a msi z97 gaming9 MOBO.

thanks.

The GTX 970 would be my choice. Better supported and slightly more VRAM (top kek).

That or the R9 390.

970 is the better choice in my opinion.

The 970 is newer and runs cooler with less power while delivering just about as good if not better gaming performance.  It offers better computing performance as well.  You'll also get DX12 support and I'll bet the 970 is already VR ready.

It's still inaccurate. The R9 390 is arguably better in most scenarios.

GTX 970 performs better than the GTX 780 and it has 0.5GB more usable VRAM (if you're not talking about the GTX 780 6GB of course).

Would suggest you to look into the R9 390 too, by the way.

Go red team for price/perf would be my recommendation.390 FTW.

Tip to those that are new on LTT forum- quote a post so that the person you are quoting gets a notification, otherwise they'll have no idea that you did. You can also use a tag such as @Ryoutarou97 (replace my username with anyone's. You should get a dropdown after you type the "@")to send a notification, but quoting is preferable.

Feel free to PM me about absolutely anything be it tech, math, literature, etc. I'll try my best to help. I'm currently looking for a cheap used build for around $25 to set up as a home server if anyone is selling.

If you are a native speaker please use proper English if you can. Punctuation, capitalization, and spelling are as important to making your message readable as proper night theme formatting is.

My build is fully operational, but won't be posted until after I get a GPU in it and the case arted up.

Most. The only times the GTX 970 has a clear advantage is games with large amounts of tessellation. Even then, the R9 390 still puts out respectable performance which rivals (and sometime beats) the GTX 970 in performance (see Witcher 3).

You can see plenty of benchmarks showcasing the R9 390 with either equal or better performance with the GTX 970 at a lower price.

Well...

1. Laptops don't have the best cooling and.....

2. Their GPUs aren't really the best (depending on model) to OC with. Sure you get a boost but is it really worth it in the long run?

3. THE COOLING FOR THE GPU :P

According to the leader of green team, you should not overclock your mobile GPU at all.

They have released driver and vBios updates that stops mobile GPU overclocking.

Much proud to be on green team

it does overclock though, iam overclocking the clock speed and my VRAM is done already ... so what were you saying

i know, i will speed it up a bit for few weeks only until i get my build up and running just so i can freaking play some games until i do.
