Need a good set of gaming headphones

with my tax return coming soon, along with my 980Ti classified. I would like to get a pair of good gaming headphones. Suggestions please

I have a set of Logitech G230 stereo headphones. They’re much better than my apple earbuds and for $50 bucks really good value!

Just get some damn good headphones + a mod mic. Gaming headphones suck.

I owned them and I really hated them. They were real nasty.

I personally use the Cloud II headset, it's comfortable, and has a decent mic

 

edit: The price tag is $100, the Cloud I is around $85, but I don't have any experience with it

Cable fucked up, also sound quality.

Yeah the cable is like 20 feet long, but it has a decent velcro strap to keep it in order. I never had issues with sound quality. I mean I have better headphones without a mic that I use for music, but you can’t expect perfect quality for less than like $180.

no as in. The cable got screwed up so that unless it was at a specific angle. It never produced sound. eventually it couldn't produce sound.

Modmics are just attachable mics by an elastic band, you are not actually modifying anything

Well they are, but don't know why the age of a headphone matters.  I mean hell, the HD600 is going to be 20 years old next year and they're still considered a gold standard for many.

I can't recommend the Corsair 2100's that I've rocked for 2 years enough, they're great for the price and have never done me wrong.

The Sennheiser HD580 were released in 1994 and I consider them to be a valuable part of my headphone collection that consists of more current headphone releases. I can assure you they sound better than anything by a gaming brand you may buy.

I'm expecting a Logitech G933 Wireless headset in the mail very soon and I am very excited for it.  For almost the past 2 years I've been using the Logitech G930 wireless headset which I love despite having to RMA it 7 or 8 times (heavy use, weak plastic housing, and sometimes I got defective headsets back).  Believe it or not, Logitech's warranty policy covered me every time and I've only payed the initial purchase fee from Amazon.  From what I hear the G933 improves upon what the G930 lacked so I have high hopes.

 

tl;dr If you have any interest in the convenience and freedom of wireless headsets, Logitech has 2 options and a good 2 year warranty policy.
