New to the PC Master Race advice needed

Hello,

I'm very new to the PC Master Race. After watching a couple videos here and there, I have put together a $300 PC just to get me started as my first PC. I would greatly appreciate feedback. I just want to play some basic games like Heroes Of The Storm/League of Legends.

The parts:

Thank you.

Hello mate, welcome to the forum!

There isn't a whole lot of value to builds in the $300 price range, I would suggest trying to up your budget just a little bit to accommodate $400-$500, where you'll be getting more for your money.

However, LoL isn't a very demanding game, so the lower specs are completely understandable. Maybe chuck an R7 250 in there and Xfire it with the 7850k, it'll give you a bit of extra performance.

I would also be inclined to buy an A88X motherboard. They're not much more expensive, but they have a tendency to overclock better (that is my understanding of it anyway).

@Sirbuttkiss, here's a build I whipped up. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/G8RDBm

This one uses an A88X motherboard and an X4 860K, the reason being that the 860K is basically the same chip as the 7850k, but without the onboard graphics and a fair bit cheaper.

Instead of relying on the integrated graphics, I chucked an R7 360 in there which will be more than capable of dealing with LoL and some undemanding titles CS:GO, DOTA 2 and the like. It'll also play some AAA titles, however, I would heavily turn down the settings or you will experience some pretty bad frame rates. I also chucked a CPU cooler in there.

It is $75 more expensive than the build you proposed, however for only a little bit more, I would expect MUCH more performance from this rig. The only thing I would change about the build I proposed is to get a better PSU such as the EVGA 600B, which is pretty cheap at the moment. I've put that PSU in the build here: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ypjmYJ

The EVGA 500B would be a more appropriate size wattage for this build, but for some reason, the 600B is cheaper. Ah well, I'm not complaining.
