OLED Panels

EMENCII

Hello everyone,

I was wondering about how OLED panels compare against the latest progresses that ASUS, Acer and the others made with the IPS technology. What about the colors? For what I know OLED displays have no rivals, even among IPS monitors, is it true? What about latencies, framerates and resolutions?

Finally, the last question, what about the prices? What products is it worth to consider buying? No one (mainly talking about Linus) ever considered them much, apart from the 65" TV... Anywhere where I can find more info?

Thank you,

EMENCII

OLED basically blows everything else out of the water, there are 120hz displays, it has better colour, better blacks, better viewing angles better everything

Costs are high though, and OLED monitors are not common

OLED displays have inherently infinite contrast ratio and wide color gamut, better than any IPS panel. The response time is instantaneous so refresh rates can be as high as the manufacturer wants (limited by display controller and interface). Latency will be different for every monitor, as it is not a property of the display panel. Latency is determined by the display controller.

Where can I find more info about this? Thank you for your answer, was very interesting :)

I don't think there is quite yet a better solution than OLEDs... They seem basically perfect, apart from the high cost
