Thats the one. :) I got mine for 110$ us in december, but I already had bought the board before the great chip exodus of 2015/2016. haha I got that intel board for $100 and it rocks. But like i said, my neighbor had 8 of them and had to rma 4... not a very good ratio for nib mobos..

Wait, HOW? This thing costs literally 2 salaries here, you can buy a used car with that much money. How did you get it for 110$ and where? Are these chips still around or do you have to buy used?

Amazon was going to v3 and dumped all their server chips super cheap. I saw a couple people got them for $65 bucks. Ebay has a ton of them. :)

thanks dude :) But how do they perform in gaming compared to an i5 (4460 for example)? And one more thing: Are they overclockable?

I upgraded from an i5 3470 and it is an absolute beast comparatively. Black ops 3 particularly plays much much better. The witcher 3 also seems to play better. I have seen a max of 44% usage in black ops and 35% in the witcher. I think it helps with the minimum fps quite a bit. doesn't help the max but i am locked at 60fps with vsync anyhow, so that isn't important to me. I ended up paying less than 300 bucks for the chip, mobo and 16 gigs of gskill ram. amazing pc for a budget price.

Sorry for not responding or posting in a couple days I was on a short vacation. Anyways I have returned my intel dx79sr and I got the Asus P6X79 Pro board that comes with 8gb of ram. I got it for 200 us shipped which is not to bad. Thus board does not officially support my Xeon, but it should be fine.

Wow you runn through a lot of MoBos.....

This is true. So far I have gone through 1 CPU 2 motherboards and 1 GPU. The   CPU, GPU,  and 1st motherboard where returned because at least one of them was dead but I had no way to test it so I returned everything. The second motherboard was confirmed dead after I was able to test everything else. Also I am 95-100 percent sure I built this correctly so it is not user error. I am just extraordinarily unlucky. Hopefully the next board works.

Yeah I got my chip for 65 US  so about 60 Euros. As for performance against the i5 4460 I think the E5 2670 would perform better. This is because The i5 4460 only has 4 non hyper threaded cores while the E5 2670 has 8 hyper threaded cores. Also the E5 2670 will do just fine with gaming and has 40 PCI-E lanes while the i5 4460 only has 16. The i5 4460 is built in a newer die size but other than that the E5 2670 crushes it. Also it is not overclockable, but if you are lucky you can can a few MHz out of a BLCK overclock.

Well darn. I just bought my new Asus motherboard for 200Us then I find this nicer one for cheaper. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/used/1015312/?gclid=CNXP-cukmcsCFcRehgodhsQMbw

Oh well at least I get 8GB of CORSAIR DOMINATOR GT RAM with mine.

Finally! I finally has a (consistently) working computer! The new motherboard came and now everything works. Also I can not believe how much better the Asus BIOS is compared to the Intel board. I have started benchmarking and so far things look pretty good. I also started to mess with overclocking the CPU. I have gotten 106 on the CPU without touching the voltages and temps are still about 50 at max load for half an hour. I am very pleased with this CPU. I will post my benchmarks and pictures of the system tomorrow. Have a great day everyone!

Sorry for not posting I had some software problems. I also bought Fallout 4 and have spent way to much time playing it. Anyways I was able to get the CPU up to 106.5 on the base clock and plan to keep messing with it. The R9 390 I was able to get up to 110MHz on the core and 1710 on the memory. This is with a plus 50% power limit and an added 92Mv. Probably not the best for longevity but it is not going above 78 degrees so I feel safe with that overclock. Here are the pictures of the build itself.

This is not what Stefan said, FFFS. For some reason the forum remembered a post I started typing up and won't let me fucking clear the reply window. If I try and delete it I end up going back to the website I was on before. God, these modern forum interfaces are shit. Any way, with any luck it will let me actually post this. I must say I'm very impressed. Whilst it doesn't really worry my 5820k @ 4.6ghz (around 1300 Cinebench) it does get quite close. Which for a cheap locked derped CPU ain't bad at all ! I'm very impressed with the performance per $, even if it took you a while to get there :D

I know how you feel the new forum has been giving me problems too and yeah the 5820k is a very nice chip. It was the on I was going to save up for if I did not find the E5 2670.  Also I agree the price to performance is really good. In all it cost me Exactly 300US for the RAM, CPU, and motherboard.

nice! so you got it all figured out at least. I see you got your overclock too. What kind of cinebench scores are you getting? and are you taking advantage of quad channel memory? I will get some pics of mine this evening. Glad to see you got it up and running.

I got a cinabench score of 1087 and while I am not using quad channel memory I am running in tri channel.

1087 with your overclock? I got 1080 @ stock. maybe its my 16 gb of quad channel ram bringing me up? I was not aware that this platform could run in tri channel. interesting. :)
