can my computer run a gtx 780 ti

Go to solution Solved by Josephdalepi,

can my http://www.amazon.com/CybertronPC-TGM4213B-FX-4130-GeForce-1600MHz/dp/B00J9D4MVW/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1453951618&sr=1-2&keywords=gaming+pc run this graphics card i am going to get a new power supply but do i need any thing els?

please ignore most of the people here

an 8350 and a 650 watt psu with probably do what you need

id say get an ssd, as that will speed up your system the most

and more ram could help

getting a new system would get the best performance, but just upgrading your psu, graphics, and processor would be just fine, and an 8350 would NOT bottleneck

your cpu will bottleneck most likely.. but besides that assuming you get a new PSU and it will physically fit I dont see why it wouldnt work.

are you buying used? Why the 780ti over a 980ti?

Yes it can but it will bottleneck.  Do you already have a 780ti?

You can, just don't!

You will heavily bottleneck a 780ti with that CPU, plus it has a generic PSU.

The reason i might get the 780ti is because i dont have the money for the 980ti

What cpu do you recommend?

the max gpu I would put in that thing would be a 370 or a 950 any more than that and it wouldn't be worth it. Also, get a better psu if you decide to get a new gpu

At least an i5 4460, probably an i5 4690k.

You will need a new motherboard as well.

Plus a new PSU such as a EVGA G2, GS, Seasonic X or G, XFX XTR, Corsair RMI.

You will need a new motherboard as well.

...and a new PSU more than likely...turning this into an high-end gaming rig will cost big bucks...it's a low end entry level gaming PC you have there OP the CPU is super slow.

Get yourself a GTX 950 or something like that and you'll be happy with the performance increase i'm sure the performance of the GT610 is abysmal.

+1375% so it's 12 times more powerful than what you have in there:

If i get a 970 g1 and a 700w psu will it work?

You don't need nearly that much wattage for a 970, although even a 970 might be pretty bottlenecked by that cpu. But for a GTX 970, a 500w from a good brand will be plenty.

In fact, 500w is exactly what nvidia recommends. http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-970/specifications

That's only if his motherboard supports an 8350, which I, at least, can't determine. It's a prebuilt system, and a relatively barebones one at that, so the motherboard (which I can't find any info on) might not even be compatible, even though it's the same socket.

maybe not, but its likely and an 8350 is dirt cheap these days, especially compared to basically any other processor

Well it's definitely possible. OP, if you wanna take a chance of maybe having to return an incompatible part, it might be a good idea to check out getting an 8350. If not, look into getting a GPU that wouldn't be bottlenecked by your current CPU. Either way, an upgrade to a 500w well-reviewed PSU would be a good thing to do.

yes please ignore everyone else giving advice lol..

8350 will be fine I agree.

Ram most likely wont make a difference in this situation..

OP are you getting a used 780ti? There are cheaper cards now days that perform better then that. ( thats assuming your paying the new price)
