sorry for not being specific - I want to use things like Photoshop, illustrator and video editing for highschool and to college.

Probably get a used gaming laptop is your best option for performance for the price. A usb m1 mba might be a decent option if you want a mac.

 

Do you care about other aspects of the laptop?

More is better, but storage is the least important and you can always leverage cloud an external storage options. Performance wise, all you need is the M1. If you can get 16GB of memory great. Try to get at least 256GB on storage, 128 is not really usable.
