I have a contact frame and a NHD15S, is 111C on my i5-13600K an issue when its pulling around 200W and TjMax is set to 105C. This isnt during normal loads (eg gaming) and only happens during extreme stress tests like linpack extreme. Even F@H doesn't hit these temps. My main concern is degradation. Also undervolting is still a work in progress, im at -0.075V (~0.1270V) and +400mhz and working on getting voltage lower so temps will hopefully go down as well. Also its worth noting the the most ive ever pulled with this CPU is like 253W, is that an issue? It was in OCCT AVX2 test.

Where are you reading 111c?    What software is reporting this as well?  What sensor?

Either something is really wrong with your cooling or your temperature sensor is broken somehow. Try reseating the cooler, make sure it's secured evenly. Make sure the fans are working properly as well.

Fans are at 100%, I can reseat the cooler in a couple hours, and i will also put on some fresh thermal paste. What kind of temps am I supposed to be seeing? Also I dont know how much it helps but its also throttling like crazy 5.5 -> 3.7 is the most extreme I am seeing.

Hovering anywhere under i think about 85-90 Celcius should be manageable when running a high-intensity program. When idling, it can vary but for comparison's sake, my CPU sits at around 45-50 Celcius (however I am using an AIO so take that with a grain of salt).

idling im around the low 60s high 50s, ill reseat the CPU, contact frame and reapply thermal paste and see what happens.

It hit like 98C in the BIOS after I redid the thermal paste and everything. I think I put enough pressure when I put it on. What now?

You can try turning off the e-cores if you only game on the system, temps will be way lower and it shouldn't affect games 'cause most wont use them anyway.
The NH-D15S isn't really enough to handle these Intel chips, you ideally want a 360mm aio.

I really dont want to spend 100+ on this PC. Id rather leave the e-cores alone though because I also do F@H and I think they are used for that

Have you checked your ambient temp? And what is your current fan setup?

Also instead of undervolting with offset you can set static frequency and voltage to avoid the bad intel boosting mechanism. Start with probably 5.2GHz and 1.25V locked and go up from there.

The Noctua cooler is more than enough for a 13600K, as you can see from gaming and F@H.

If you only see concerning temps when doing extreme stress tests.... do I really need to say it?  DON"T DO EXTREME STRESS TESTS!!!!!

They don't do anything, aren't useful at all, and push a synthetic unreasonable load on your system.

Your CPU is operating properly, as evidenced by games and F@H.

This is a non-issue.

This is NOT normal. The BIOS should be using very little CPU power. Assuming you checked if the bottom protective peel of the cooler was removed before placing it on the CPU, what is the airflow configuration of your case? (what fans are pulling air in, and which are pulling them out) Are your fans working?

Make sure the mounting bracket is screwed all the way down. Make sure the screws for securing the cooler is all the way down.

I did take the peel off. The airflow config is all intake and one exhaust in the back. All of them appear to be working and report back that their top speed is working in fan control. I have no way of verifying if the numbers are true though.

which is a misconception anyways, your pc could be perfectly stable during "stress tests" and still crashing while running certain games or applications.

also benefits of overclocking are questionable at best, heat, clock stretching,  reduced lifespan... not really worth it nowadays. that shit was cool in the 90s, seriously it's such an outdated concept.

no, of course its not, but as far i understand op isn't using normal settings,  they're "overclocking".

I mean I get more points in F@H, +30-40% FPS in games from the iGPU all while undervolting, honestly I'm happy with it

Even on OC settings its throttling with like 75W, regardless of OC thats an issue
