This was my first build I've ever done for myself. My laptop was recently lost in a fire and decided to spend some of my share of the insurance money replacing it with a custom-built "gaming" rig. I write "gaming" because I have a strong feeling that most of my "games" weren't designed for mature adults, but I digress. This build went pretty well, aside from me having to re-cable manage everything due to late night frustration and carelessness. I based it on Linus' 'Ultimate Value Gaming Build," with a few modifications to suit me better. Personally, I still own quite a few CDs, mostly music but some software as well. So I added a DVD drive. I also wanted to get a GPU I knew was more than what I needed, because if I was going to spend a nice chunk of money building myself a computer, it sure as hell wasn't going to lag. Other than that, not much else was changed. As I said this is only my second build ever, so it's nothing too crazy. I had a lot of fun building it and the sense of accomplishment was pretty great too. I've included some pictures of the final product. I'd love to hear your thoughts. I hope you all have a great day! :D

just passing through, i wanted to tell you about a software (you may already know it). it called Set Timer Resolution, i didn't really understand how it works but what i know is that he reduces the response time between the gpu and the cpu or something like that, so it helps a bit with your cpu. i actually use it for one of my rigs and it gives about 9fps extra in crysis 3 so you can try it
