Windows XP locked out (free computer )

Soi got a call from a friend who had an old work pc laying around and he didn't need it anymore. It has windows XP installed, but i i am locked out. My friend doesn't remember the user name or password, so i am wondering what is the best way to get in without the information. Thanks for helping this newb out!

1. Restart your computer and keep pressing F8.

2. From the menu, select boot in safe mode with command prompt.

3. once you’re at the command prompt, type “net users” (without quotes)

4. You will see a list of usernames. Pick the username that you are using and type “net users username *” (without quotes, replace username with a real username from that username list)

5. You will be asked to enter a new password and a second reconfirmation.

6. Press enter and you will be told that your username password has been changed successfully.

Wow, if that actually works I am putting this info somewhere safe, countless times have I forgotten my password

fortmat it and put Xubuntu/Lubuntu/ Ubuntu MATE on it.

So when i boot with safe and command prompt, command prompt doesn't show up.
