Hello!

I'm planning on buying the up and coming 1000 series GTX GPU's. I also want to buy a new CPU.

I wonder, I don't want to change my mobo so I have to stick with 1150 socket CPU's, if so, I will be buying the i7 - 4790k.

Can you guys recommend that or would the GPU be extremely bottlenecked by the CPU? I know there are no specs yet, but what is your opinion?

Kind regards,

Laurens

The 4790k shouldn't bottleneck any single consumer card for a while since it is only marginally behind a 6700k

And, so far, the 4790k has overclocked way better.

Now, Skylake has many new features, and you will not be getting those.

Well, with an i7, GTX 1080, Full tower and flashy lights, it can obviously only be for one thing:

Solitaire.

We don't know if they will be called the GTX "1000" name scheme, but the 4790 should theoretically handle it easily
