Which R9 390 is Best?

Gibs960

I want a cool running card that's quiet.

Also, I'm taking price into consideration but as long as the card isn't similar to the price of another brand's 390x, it should be fine!

Thanks!

I've seen that on another post recently.

Sapphire is a very long card, i had to take drive cages out of my h440 to fit mine in, even after that I have only 10cm ish of clearance from the fans.

Also if you have a poor quality mobo, the Sapphire might straight out rip the mobo to pieces as it is long and heavy.

MSI does make good coolers and looks alot better IMO, but Sapphire is also cheaper most the time, runs cooler, and quieter.

If space is not a problem, Sapphire all the way.

They bassically got the nVidia coolers and whacked it onto a AMD GPU.

I've seen that on another post recently.

Their coolers are not up to snuff for properly cooling an AMD chip. They usually also do not cool VRMs and VRAM directly, which is not ideal.

Poor cooling (copy-pasta from 970)

Poor components (VRMs)

Poor customer support

even the 980 Ti DC3 is barely cool enough.

I find myself avoiding pretty much all (AMD & Nvidia) Asus GPU's unfortunately, which is a shame because their motherboards are nice.

According to PC Partpicker, there's no compatibility errors but would the Sapphire nitro fit into a Spec-01 case?

It says so, but that might be down to the fact you can remove the drive cages. PCPartpicker is not really that good for compatibility. My friend has a evo 212 and it doesn't fit in his BitFenix Comrade case.

If the seller supports returns and you are not in a rush to get a new GPU, just buy the Sapphire card.

All graphics cards are compatible with all motherboards, unless you're talking about some really, really, really old AGP affair, which you're not. Because graphics cards are self-contained units with their own processor, memory and cooler, you only need to worry about two things when it comes to compatibility of graphics cards: your power supply and your case. Your power supply needs to have enough power and enough PCIe power cables, and your case simply needs to be able to physically accommodate the thing.

It will. I have a spec 03 and a tri x 290x (slightly longer). The cases are basically the same.

It fits fine.

IC degradation and OC headroom?

It's a 390, it doesn't OC.

Degradation is hard to spot in a gpu since games get ahead way faster anyway.

Actually, it does oc. Grenada isnt that bad at overclocking. Got my hawaii chip ( =grenada) an extra ~15% performance, so not too shabby .

And i would rather want to know my card will run for a long time.
