what temp difference shoudl i see between dark rock pro 3 aand krkaen x61

so i have a x61, and  a bequiet dark rock pro 3.

 

what difference should i see in temps bt ugrading from the dark rock to the x61.

 

also, what temp difference should i see between a stock 90x strix cooler and a g10+x41?

You would see a 2-5deg temperature decrease.

But nothing much really, since the dark rock 3 is already opop.

 

Well why change? The dark rock 3 pro looks nicer than the kraken x61 imo.

I wouldn't put a AIO on a GPU that has normal power delivery.

Like really there really isn't any point in it.

 

I would do so for MSI lightning, EVGA classified cards and maybe Gigabyte G1 cards.

 

But for a Strix? No.

Sell the strix 390x and get a 980Ti in the future.

A EVGA Classified one at least, then do on it.

 

Mistake getting the strix in the first place imo, you could have gone XFX or MSI.

You could get a 5% increase in overclock with a air cooler already.

Getting a AIO would only increase it by very little and it will enter the crashing mode*(Display driver failing).

 

To get solid overclocks, the power delivery system enables you to further increase performance(not sure amount numbers) but far more effectively than you can do without beefy PDS. That is to also say that you got a relatively well binned one, which also then ties with the power delivery systems.

 

The higher up cards are binned, they are made for you to overclock them.

Slapping a AIO on a lower binned one is cringy.

If you display driver crashes/artifacting/other nonsense occurs when you overclock the card without touching voltage, it's a low binned one.

If you can max the sliders and it's good, you have a okay one.

Run some games and test it out, for example, mine starts to flicker/stutter in fallout 4 when I try to max the memory clock.

But my core clock can go well above max.

^ Just look at the core clock for now.

As said the dark rock is a pretty beefy cooler so there wouldn't be much difference, the GPU would be a fair bit better especially since you have an SLI setup the top card will not get the exhaust heat from the bottom up into it as much.

I would say quite a bit since your moving that heat away from the cards and giving a fairly large amount of surface area for cooling the GPU die, however the cards will still need VRM and VRAM heatsinks.
