Best gtx 970?!

parikshitpai92

I'm from India and building a Rs.90k gaming PC.

So gtx 970 is the only option I have for the budget as AMD r9 390- 390x costs 8-10k more...building a 1080p gaming PC.

Please suggest-

PC hardware-

i5 6600k(costs 1k more than i5 4690k)

8gb hyperx ddr4 Ram

Asus Z170 Pro gaming Mobo

Cooler master hyper 212x evo

Also suggest a PSU for the same..

And should I buy a 128gb-ssd and 1Tb HDD combo or should I go for 2Tb SSHD (Price for the combo and sshd is the same)..

Please help!

Can't go wrong with EVGA or Gigabyte. I personally think the Gigabyte G1 Gaming is the best.

Definitely get the SSD/HDD combo.

Since the GTX 970 is cheaper for you, I'd get the EVGA model.

PSU - Any 500W SeaSonic (520W S12) or XFX PSU would do.

'Fanboyism is stupid' - someone on this forum.

Be nice to each other boys and girls. And don't cheap out on a power supply.

get the cheaper CPU of the two, they have pretty much no difference in performance

if you do get the 4690k, don't forget to switch your board to Z97 or Z87 and ddr3 or you might end up like this fella:

http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/527149-help-my-intel-core-i7-5820k-doesnt-fit-in-the-msi-z97s-sli-krait-edition

which would be very sad

as for PSU, since the aviability seems to be limited and prices inflated, can't suggest anything specific

but look for anything from Tier 1 or Tier 2 from this list:

But I'm getting more Storage space at the same price...I'm just using it for playing games...no video editing etc in mind...

G1 Gaming is better. It's binned.

Well, your system will be MUCH faster with an SSD. If you really need the space now you could get the SSHD and grab an SSD later, or vice-versa.

get more storage for your games

SSD is overrated, SSHD will be good enough to cache your system files and you will be able to actually store real games on the accelerated storage

500w would be enough for future expansion?I was thinking around 600-650W..

faster what? boot times? awesome....

128GB SSD is laughable if the station is for gaming, you can't really store any games on it and the smaller hard drive will be filled up with blu-ray porn pretty fast

A faster system in general. Like, MUCH faster. Seriously? Have you ever even used an SSD? I don't see how anybody could go back after using one.

EVGA or MSI. As for PSU, anything from Seasonic, SuperFlower, XFX or FSP Is good. Make sure to check the Individual PSU.

what kind of future expansion are you talking about?

would you like to add more SATA devices? - the 500W will do just fine

or maybe you would like to add more another GPU for SLI? - yes that might be advisable to get a 650W unit, but honestly if we're talking about two 970s then I belive it should do just fine, given the PSU is from the list I linked you to

or just general upgrade like replacing exsisting GPU with a newer model? - again the 500W will do just fine

CPU: Intel i7 5820K @ 4.20 GHz | MotherboardMSI X99S SLI PLUS | RAM: Corsair LPX 16GB DDR4 @ 2666MHz | GPU: Sapphire R9 Fury (x2 CrossFire)

bro pls, I've been using a 240GB OCZ Vector since 2012, I'm running a 480GB 950Pro at the moment

yes the Windows starts up pretty fast... much win

all day long I watch youtube videos, play GTA and jerk off while reading your troll posts, neither of those benefit from the SSD
