Posted January 13, 2016 Is there an argument against PC cases that have windows?I have been thinking about whether even the slightest build up of dust would ruin the aesthetics. This would especially be a problem if you have spent extra £££ or $$$ or €€€ on colour matching components just to have that ruined by dust. Also, how many months would it take for the dust to become apparent or obvious. Can someone who uses a windowed case explain whether I am worrying over nothing? Cheers. Posted January 13, 2016 Arguments against windowed cases: They're sometimes more expensive They are louder than sound deadened options (which are usually always not windowed). If you have horrible colour co-ordination and useless cable management, everyone will know. Mmmm yeah, that's about it. Posted January 13, 2016 Can get better sound dampening with a non-windowed case, if you value silence. Posted January 13, 2016 Most windows are pretty easy to scratch, which imo is the biggest problem with them. You obviously can avoid this, just be careful. Pro Tip: don't use flash when taking pictures of your build; use a longer exposure instead. Prop up your camera with something (preferably a tripod) if necessary. if you use retarded/autistic/etc to mean stupid please gtfo Link to comment https://linustechtips.com/topic/526230-argument-against-windowed-pc-cases/#findComment-6984750 Share on other sites
 Posted January 13, 2016 I don't have a windowed case because a windowed case let's out more noise vs a non-windowed case. Not really... if you have silent fans, you can even hear them in a open case. For example R5 windowed is silent enough for me... at idle cant anything and when im gaming/doing work the ran ramp up but if wear a headphones you wont notice it. Magical Pineapples
