? on CPU cores/rendering etc etc

Ok so how much cores/hyper threading are really needed?

So my question is im building a gaming PC where i pland to stream my games i play. I plan on making videos and all and doing some editing or w/e. I dont see myself heavily involve in video productions/editing/photo shopping.

What CPU would you suggest for me for the main purpose of gaming but also with just enough wiggle room to be able to do some video editing and messing around with photo shop. I dont see myself spending a whole lot of time in video productions or editing but lets say if in the future i want to be able to just scracth the surface of it and be able to make videos edit and all that what cpu do you think i should look at?

Like i said for the CPU main purpose gaming and would like wiggle room to be able to mess around with stuff in the future thanks.

I'm a Youtuber and I do gaming which then involves a lot of video rendering.

You don't need a 5820k as suggested above unless you really have money to throw away.

I have an i7 4790k and it's plenty enough.

4c/8t and it does everything I could possibly want it to.

It's powerful enough to not bottleneck any GPU and can easily support streaming (I've streamed on a 4/4 i5 2500k in the past)

Just make sure that you get something that suits your GPU.

If you spend 500euro on a GPU, you'll really need a good CPU to go with it.

At the moment there's also the new i7 6700k which will give a slight performance boost for a slight cost increase but the 4790k is still a beast and will be more than enough for the next 5 years or so.

5820k is the best >$150 price to performance rendering intel cpu on the market today (new) if you are willing to overclock (and this includes skylake blck overclocking). (the FX line is a better value at the real low end.)

Not only that but it is only beaten by cpu's over 3x it's price in raw performance. (for gaming, it is as good or better than the 6700k OC to OC on the latest titles)

That said it sounds like broadwell-E is around the corner (2-3 months) so it might be a good idea to wait for that if it isn't an issue.
