Will it stream? Will it Render? 6700k vs 5820k $2000

So, I kinda have a dilema. I'm still new to the forums and I can't seem to find any comparisons of streaming / video editing rigs.  I have been looking to build a rig with a budget of $2000. I have created 2 build plans. One is based on the Intel 6700k cpu running z170 chipset (Ultra Magnus) while the other is running the Intel 5820k with the X99 chipset (Optimus Prime). My personal preference is the 6700k because i do plan on overclocking and I think that the new skylake processors seem pretty reliable in regards to that. My only main concern is core count, with the 6700k being only 4 cores (hyperthreaded).

So in conclusion:

1. 6700k vs 5820k. How many cores are too many cores?

2. Will this rig stream fairly well?

3. Anything you would change while staying in the price range?

Here are the builds

Please give me some insights on the 2 when it comes to gaming, streaming, and video/music production. Thanks guys.

The extra threads in the 5820K will help in rendering, but they won't help you in streaming, which the 6700K will do fine on its own.

Personally I would go with the 5820K because of the extra threads, just to have them, but either one works. Plus, I'm a bit of a PCIe junkie, so that makes the 6700K look reaaaaaaally nice...

define rekt. it's a little slower, still HELLA FAST, but a little slower in single thread ye.

"streaming, and video/music production"

If it was just that then obviously go with the 5820k and since it's still capable at gaming plus you can still overclock it, I would recommend to go with the 5820k as the extra 2 cores will really help you you're producing on it but since the single core performance on the 6700k is better, you gotta either choose more FPS or a CPU that's going to be much better at production/streaming.

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

5820K is even cheaper!

i see no reason anyone would go for 6700k

also check this

5820K is 1-3 FPS better overal in gaming

and beleive me, when you throw rendering/streaming at it while gaming, 5820k will benefit even more

Thank you so much guys! I'm feeling that the 5820k is the way to go now.

Most 5820k chips hit 4.5 GHZ and at that point, there will be no difference. With games now taking advantage of multiple threads, the 5820k will pull ahead.

Go with a Gigabyte Gtx 980 Ti (G1 Gaming edition if possible), still better than Asus. If u can't, EVGAs are fine too, as they say :D
