No, the 980 will overclock far better than the Fury. Which is the purpose of a 980 Classified.

1080p, the 980 is the clear winner. 1440, the overclocked 980 wins. 4k, they trade blows.

Not really it beats the 980 at 1440p

Overclocked benchmarks. The Fury destroys in 1440p+, and they trade blows at 1080p. The 980 wins in Thief at 4K, until you turn on Mantle as the Graphics API.

B stock, brand new but with a year warranty verses a 3 year.

Brand new B stock? Try new. http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=04G-P4-3988-KR

The FTW is a much better deal if you're not using B stock.

Watch that LTT video on factory overclocks. The performance is negligible at stocks, and overclocked the only thing holding stock ACX 2.0 cards back is the power delivery, which with the FTW only gives slightly better overclocks. When overclocked, an FTW would probably be very similar to the regular ACX 2.0 SSC or stock at overclocks.

REALLY depend on the resolution. At 1080p the 980. Above that, how much do you enjoy overclocking?

Watch that overclocked comparison again. The Fury beats the 980 at 1080p in some games.

Watch the LTT video on ram speed importance. I love Linus like a brother, but the brother don't know shit about overclocking. You don't slide bars around with a classified and call it overclocking.

My point stands, they're great salesman but not knowledgeable enough or took the time to take advantage of a Classified the way it's meant to be used. Which might be true for the OP as well, which is why I asked how much they enjoy overclocking. Because it would take days to see the benefits a Classified offers for the money.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

They didn't overclock the Classified, if you have $629 for a new Classified you might as well get a decent 980ti.

Are we done here?

I agree that at full pull retail (though the Fury has a ridiculous retail too if you don't go off the sale price) the 980ti is the better choice.

This is kind of silly until we know the OP's monitor resolution, and overclocking habits. So ya, we cool.
