Is the 390x "worth it" over the 390? Not a lot of benchmarks out there...

Hopefully I'd pair it with an i5 4690k.

It depends on what you want.

just get a 290x they are basicly the same

if you can afford it and want the best gaming experience, you'd probably go 390x and a lowerend Skylake i5 and a Z170 motherboard that supports non K overclocking and overclock that a bit. in terms of price to performance though OCed haswell and a 390 is probably better

my friends 390 scores 12300-12700 on firestrike, my 390x scores around 13700-14000 on firestrike. Whether its worth is is up to you.

+4 gb of vram

i run all my games a 1440p or 2160p with high or max setting and dont touch the 4gb limmit

looking to buy sapphire, all their 290/290x cards are more expensive than the 390/390x cards

I have an r9 390 and I didn't see the difference in the 390 vs 390x worth the extra 100$. And all the games I play currently (gta v, rainbow six siege, arma 3, dayz, etc) I play at max settings. I can even play gta v max settings 3200x1800 (vsr enabled)
