G3258 Got for Free Need Help for MoBo

We got a Free G3258 (Not Actually free cause it was a store freebies) its like $60 worth of items and there we are.

 

now people are not fund about G3258 but what will be a Good MoBo for a OC of 4.2 to 4.4 GHz and in the future ill save money for a i5-4460?

 

here are my choices so far. 

 

Asus H81M-A ($60.43)

Asus B85M-G ($73.83)

 

Or any Suggestion and ill try to get back on your of the Availability and the Pricing about your suggestion.

Well having that for free is great! 

I would match a GTX 950 with it.

 

also the H boards cannot overclock, so get the Z boards.

Um yes they can over clock... Its a g3258 not skylake...

The G3258 can be overclocked on just about any H or B series in addition to the Z. The UEFI lockout only applies to K series chips on anything but a Z chipset.

 

Edit: There are some H87 boards out there than can overclock a K series, but a lot of them had the feature disabled in BIOS updates down the line.

hmm current budget to build with the G3258 will be more or less than $300-400.

although the cheaper boards have options to overclock, the designs are limited

to features (lacking VRM/VRM cooling, UEFI limitations on voltages, stability)

that could hamper the experience you are looking forward to.

you get what you pay for.

Any Z97 should do just read some reviews and you are good, and do not forget that you can go with any K-chip later if you get the cash! :)
