Not over ear so nope for me.

Also that price....I have no idea where that price is coming from....its a headset, not a pair of good headphones.

The MSRP just doesn't seem to fit. I can get a pair of V2s for less than $100 in Aus.

Also a concern with the ear cups not fitting around my ears and I really don't want them sitting on my ears

Since the announcement about release I've been looking at a pair of ATH-M50 and a modmic but finding a modmic in Sydney/Australia is tough enough and I really don't want to get a clip-on or desk mic.

Happy to stick with my V2s until some good reviews come out

They look cool I haven't tried 7.1 anything yet so I wouldn't know about that and the features of the headset look pretty good.

I'd say buy them if you have the money (but that's not what we're here for).

They look really comfortable, I like the siberia v2 ear cups they're really comfortable right now.

Ebay's a thing, but even buying used is pricey - my wallet stopped talking to me a while ago, maybe it's mad? Nah....

TL:DR SteelSeries has not become so popular by making crap products, they are sure to be no HD800s, but I believe they are probably going to be some of the most comfortable and best sounding headsets they have ever put out, which is a high bar IMHO.

If they are on ear that is a bid of a negative for me, I find over ear to be much more comfortable.  I would assume they sound better, or at least as good as the Siberia V2 and are as comfortable or more so.  I don't know why there are always the comments about "Oh it is a headset, therefore it is worse than any headphone" that is ludicrous and while 2 standalone focused parts could be better, that does not mean these are not extremely high quality.

mad comfy. nothing is as comfy as an empty wallet light airy and soft...

ahhh I'm sorry wallet

I know, my wallet is so full I can barely put it in my pocket! How do I fix this problem? (Thinking of a SG06 SFF build with a 770 for travel, but then my wallet will hate me for sure)

They look comfortable. I have no complaints with my V2's even for extended use. Hopefully the price tag means much better sound quality. I don't mind on-ear so much if the headsets are comfortable and painless, both of which the V2's are.

Most comfortable maybe, but best sounding Steelseries headset is a pretty low bar. I could probably walk over that bar with my massively long legs.

Here is a post I made when they were first announced, and I am still pretty sure it is accurate:

They mention that you can change colors on them before they talk about audio quality, and when they mention audio quality they talk about "specifically designed for gamers".

I am going to make a prediction and say that they will be quite bad as far as audio quality goes, the mic will be mid range and they will be very expensive.

Anyone feels like betting against me? I bet 1 Internet.

Dude you were so right - $200 is freaking ridiculous for a headset like this.

Sounds like Razer. Making products with features hardly anyone would use. Slapping on a cult-like badge. Charges exhorbitant figures.

I'm inclined to judge them AFTER I've heard them. Steelseries audio gear is LESS prone to falling into that "only for gamers with no taste" category of products in my experience.

I really liked the 7H's in terms of audio quality. It's too bad about the reliability issues. I also really like the Flux IEM series.

i want to try them too but just like that im quite comfortable with my current headphones. even if they are all fluff with decent audio i think they have their own place. just not for audiophiles
