Will an AMD FX-6300 go well with a MSI 970 GAMING and a ASUS STRIX Radeon R9 380 or can i cheap out anywhere for the same performance? Possibly motherboard downgrade?

Just go with a 860k and the 380. The 2 extra cores on the 6300 isn't going to help you any in gaming, and you will save a little money.

 

Or jump up to a 4460, nothing in-between those two cpus are worth looking at.

Should i go with the 4gb or 2gb version of the asus r9 380
