ASUS announces new GT51 Desktop Prebuilt

not as shitty looking as most prebuilts, I'll give them that. They also try to justify that thing on the front... come on, we all know it's for aesthetics.

 

 

That cyclone-style intake leads to an dedicated air tunnel that (according to ASUS) “takes advantage of natural convection to efficiently manage heat during marathon gaming sessions.”

The various configuration options haven’t been made public yet but ASUS has stated the GT51 will come with an i7-6700K processor and video card options that top out at a pair of GTX TITAN X cards in SLI. Pricing hasn’t been determined either. 

Looks like the specs are pretty nice (unlike some of ASUS' other prebuilts), but the undetermined pricing worries me, especially if they're trying to sell Titan Xs over 980tis.

Pro Tip: don't use flash when taking pictures of your build; use a longer exposure instead. Prop up your camera with something (preferably a tripod) if necessary.

i can imagine the whole ROG gaming desktop

 

GT51 with ROG Swift PG279Q, Strix keyboard, mouse and headset

 

the casing looks like a Transformer to me

 

but the parts inside is known to me quite a while when i open them up for repairs

 

they use the Z170-A mobo

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

Not a big fan of the looks tbh, i don't think the cyclone intake air crap will make a difference at all in terms of temps anyways.

if they made the prebuilt come with an absolutely stellar case (like digital storms custom cases) then i would say awesome, but the case looks cheap and naff and well in that case its a no

Hmm I wonder what the inside looks like? Maybe somebody can snag just the case in the aftermarket and watercool it just for kicks lol! Then again might not have enough vents but that's when DIY comes in.
