Xbox one included headset has no audio?

melias24

Hey guys so i got an xbox one today, and anyway all is well except one thing. My monitor only has dvi and vga, so i got a hdmi to dvi adapter and am running my xbox on 760p DVI setting. Anyway, i have no audio going through the included headset that comes with the console, any ideas why??

I read on the internet that it's because dvi doesn't carry audio, but that shouldn't have anything to do with it because theres no audio coming out of my speakers, then i read i need a spdif digital audio signal to analog adapter cable and dac. Any ideas if this is just all because i am using DVI or?.... I was going to get the xbox one chat headset adapter for my controller and plug my Shure's into the adapter, but i don't want to blow $20 if it won't work because im using DVi.
Any ideas?
