I have never seen anyone complain about a Ducky keyboard other than this guy, which is why I'm asking where and which Ducky keyboard he got that makes him dislike them so much.

 

Me neither.  In fact, if I push down as hard as I can on a single key in the middle of the board, I can see my CM Quickfire TK flex when the feet are deployed.  Do the same thing on my Ducky, you can BARELY see a flex in the board.  He must be confusing it with some other board.  They Ducky easily outweighs it and uses more steel on the backing.  In fact, I don't think the Quickfire TK uses any steel.  At least not on this Limited Edition model.

 The Quickfire TK does have metal plating in it, and I'm pretty sure that a limited edition would have one too.....I don't see any point for them to remove the metal plate for a limited edition of TK.

Just ordered my first mechanical keyboard and it comes tomorrow.  Not a bank buster, but it's a Ducky DK2108 Zero with red Cherry switches.  Good choice.....yes/no?

That's the one I chose as my first MK and honestly I love it, but I still want to try MX blues :)

Must have been packaging error.. but i'm happy :D

Blue switches gave me a headache.. but felt so godly to type on :x

I haven't take the board apart to be able to confirm one way or the other.  I'm sure it probably does have a metal plate.  However, it's either nowhere near as thick as the Ducky's or the Ducky uses a double plate of some sorts.  Either way, I like the Quickfire TK, except for the stabilizers on the spacebar.   They have too much play and are unnecessarily loud!   Yes, I'm a finicky bastard when it comes to mechanical keyboards.  The stabilizers on the shift, enter and backspace key are good but the mounting for the spacebar is just horrid.  Was thinking of selling it a couple months down the road but as I break it in more I may just keep it.

Guess I'll show off my KB I'm currently using as well, it's a Ducky DK 9008GS (black swithes) I won on overclock.net, the hotkey buttons are being replaced, having some custom printed ones being made at the moment. I also have a Tesoro Durandal with red switches as well as a CM QuickFire Pro with reds.

@ARod I just took a closer look at your profile picture, are you using Corsair Vengeance WASD keycaps on a Ducky Shine II?? How are the keycaps?

 

I do like the Corsair grip keycaps, also like the contoured 1,6, W, A & D.  They are very nice.  I believe you can order them separately through the Corsair store.  This is the closest I could find to the K70....http://www.corsair.com/us/corsair-vengeance-k60-replacement-key-switches.html  I guess they use the same keycaps?

How do you like the Tesoro?  Thoughts and views?

 

Yeah the Tesoro Durandal I have is pretty nice. The KB is nice and study, has great build quality. It also has some neat features not a lot of mechanical keyboards have, which is the 2 USB ports as well as audio pass-through (not a USB converter llke in some Logitech Gaming KBs) for headphones and mic, would be nice if someone used a headphone and mc that have short cables I guess. 

 

The Durandal does have shorter windows keys and a longer space bar which makes buying aftermarket keycaps a bit painful I guess.

Yeah he did but he lives in Germany.  I just got that one a couple weeks ago and I like it.  The white chassis is a nice touch.
