He does. They never stop growing, and they never get old. They're just as fertile (possibly more so) at 70 years than as a teenager.

They can also be difficult to ship, so if you live a considerable distance from where they're caught, you might see price hike. They generally are kept alive during transport. The meat is also genuinely very good and there's a lot of it.

No they just have a lot of predators and are not very resistive to diseases. We catch the good ones, but they're hard to come by so that's why they're expensive. Plus it's considered a luxury food.

Lobsters die when they get too heavy to moult - up to 20% of lobsters die because of exhaustion while shedding.
