Yep it's more than capable on handling your load, waaay more. It's solid.

Dual core but newer, google the processor name and check it.

only certain i7ms are quad core (i7-X7xxm I think)

but that laptop is more powerful in everyway

Dual core end with a U and quad Q it's really simple 

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

My main Headphones and IEMs:  K612 pro, HD 25 and Ultimate Ears Reference Monitor, HD 580 with HD 600 grills

DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Speakers: Genelec 8040, System Audio SA205

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

Not THAT simple :P

U-chips are low-voltage ones

H-chips are soldered onto the motherboard

M-chips are socketed

Q-chips are quad-cores

X-chips are "extreme" ones

So a i5 4200H is still a dual-core but a i5 6300HQ is a quad-core but a i5 5500U is a dual-core

You'd be surprised how many have an i5 4200H or 4210H :D

What is a good laptop for under $599 that will be able to stream videos and movies smoothly and run microsoft office smoothly.
