New build - behold the double windowed, SLI powered Defcon One

NicolaZanarini

Hey guys! So, after a long time developing it, finally we're getting around to building the rigs for our crowdfunding supporters.

This version of the case is 99% final, just some minor tweak like cable routing and Plexiglas centering, but overall the design is finished.

With a full build inside you can see what I meant in earlier posts about the Defcon One"showing off both the GPU and the motherboard, without one getting in the way of the othe ;)

As you can see we've used a long SLI cable and PCI-E rizers for the GPUs.

This is the setup for this one:

ntel Core i7 4790K
Enermax Liquimax II 120
AsRock z97m Fatality Killer
SSD Crucial 250 GB
SSD Crucial 500 GB
2x GTX980 SLI
PSU BeQuiet 800W 80+ gold

Now enough blabbing and let's get to the pics, both of the final result and the assembly process.

Nice idea, i think the overall design is great but i dont like the aesthetics 100% (though they are certainly not terrible).

Good job!

Thanks! :D

By aesthetics do you mean the build or the case itself? :)

It looks nice!

But how close are the GPU fans to the pannel? Do they get enougth ariflow?

Yup, indeed the do - they are very close, but as you can see the GPU panel has cut-outs in it to allow for air intake :)

The case itself, I cant really pin down what i dont like, i love the dual GPU look though.

I would add some dust filters because it appears to not have any.

OK I have to look more closely the fist time ;)

Mineral oil and 40 kg aluminium heat sinks are a perfect combination: 73 cores and a Titan X, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Oil

The design is fairly unique, and yeah, i can see why it would not appeal to all - the main "strenght" are the 2 compartments and the visible GPUs :)

Dust filters can be placed, but we won't provide them stock, as after gathering feedback many users said it would ruin the looks, so we'll leave it to the individual to add :)

Wow that is nothing I have seen before, great work

Thanks :D we hope to get it out on the shelves soon!

 hehe ;)

I like it, good job.

looks fancy

great idea so the gpu heat wont really affect the other components

how about possible mesh instead of the cutouts this should deliver a better airflow

Well, the cutouts already provide enough air intake for the GPUs, and one of the main design points was for the 2 GPUs to be visible - a mech could be made, but it would either be too wide or hide the GPUs :)
