Hey ppl! how r we doin 2day/2nite? ;] I'm having some issues with my build here and was hoping some of you might be able to sort me out.

http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4056#kf%C2'>

this is a link to my current case, I've got fx 8350 with stock cooler which is very annoying, whenever i stream my bf3 or any other game , well whenever i stream anything the stock cooler spins at 90 + % speed at 65 degress C. I get a lot of warnings from AI suite. Changed the thermal paste hoping it would make a difference but In my opinion the stock cooler that comes with amd's fx 8350 is just worthless. Therefore I decided to get a new cooler BUT, I have no idea which one of these to go for and which ones will actually fit in my case. Also RAM i've got is Corsair 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600Mhz CL9 Vengeance Black so there's another issue with clearance. ;/ .. Ritio , here are the collers.

Noctua SE14 Top-Down CPU Heatpipe Heatsink inc NF-P14 Fan

Noctua Dual Radiator and Fan CPU Cooler Multi-Socket
Mfr#: NH-D14

XIGMATEK Dark Knight Nighthawk Heatsink

CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Evo - 4 Heatpipe, Tower CPU Cooler

CoolerMaster Hyper TX3 Evo - 3 Heatpipe, Tower CPU Cooler

Any advice ppl?

I would go with the Noctua NH-D14 if you have the money because it is the best air cooler for overclocking and cooling in general imo.

Gigabyte GZ-G2 Gaming Case Plus.. sorry yea,,somethin went bad there.

I can't find any info on what cooler height it will fit.

Can you measure the distance between the mobo and the side panel?

shud fit if i remove the 'heat sink' from it tho rite ?

Yes it should fit but removing the heatsink would void your ram's warranty.

hi again. just wanted to post here again, in case any of you ppl out there have the same case and cooling issues.. After removing a heatsink from one of the vengance modules noctua's NH-D14 fit in the case just fine. However it turns out there some clearance issues with the side panel ;D but don't worry if u have Gigabyte GZ-G2 Gaming Case Plus this cooler will fit.

  • 6 months later...

Hi there again, sorry to be digging this post out but im having a bit of an issue with this setup. at startup sometimes one of the noctua fans is not 'kicking in' , and an error is displayed from AI suite II, sometimes I have to reboot twice to get it to work. The only thing i can think of is the PSU, but I just wanted to make sure that that's the case,, got any other ideas/suggestions good people of the internets ? ;]

Why would you think it was the psu?

dunno, not enuff power perhaps to kick start it  ?

How are fans connected? If they are 3pin and fan header has setting like "silent" put it back to normal. Those don't work with 3pins.

That shouldn't be the issue. Do you have the fans plugged into the cpu fan header? Are your motherboard drivers up to date?
