Help with my FiiO E10K

Go to solution Solved by BrinkGG,

I've got a brand spanking new FiiO E10k that I've bought to use instead of travelling with a Modi 2 Uber and Magni 2 Uber so I can use it on my laptop for music production with my HD 8 DJ's.

Unfortunately it sounds AWFUL.  I've read reviews, upon reviews, upon reviews and I've watched Linus' video but it sounds dreadful for some reason.  The only way I can describe it, is that it sounds like someone has wrapped a blanket around my head and then I put headphones on so it sounds really warm and muddled.

It claims to be plug and play but it will not work, I was never given this screen to change an output device and I've been trying for days.  If ANYONE can give me any information I'd be more than happy, this is my last resort thank you!

PS HD 8 DJ's are 95 Ohms, the E10k is supposed to drive up to 200 Ohms and I've tested it with low impedance Etymotic Hf5's, Er 6i's, Er4's,  and any other headphone I have laying around.

Right click the speaker icon in the bottom right, sound options or settings, change the USB device to default.

If this works, I may shed legitimate tears.  I have been troubleshooting for days upon days.

Wait, it doesn't solve my problem with Line Out. It works fantastically with audio coming from the laptop but not from the X1, or iPod
