Hey guys, I felt like creating a little log of me attempting to build my first PC ever! Honestly, I hope I don't end up screwing something up.

I decided to build a computer because my laptop I have right now is on the brink of death. The battery doesn't charge anymore, the charger only works in certain positions and the hinges on the laptop are practically falling off. I also thought it would be nice to get something that could last a few years playing games and still work fine in 2016.

I'm still waiting on the Case and the GPU.

My build is:
- Intel i5 4670k
- Corsair H100i (+ 2 Corsair SP120 Quiet Edition fans)
- MSI Z87-GD65 Motherboard
- 16 GB Corsair Vengeance Pro RAM
- Samsung 840 EVO 120GB SSD
- Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD
- MSI GTX 770 Lightning
- NZXT Phantom 410
- Corsair GS700w 2013 PSU
- BenQ XL2411T Monitor
- Corsair M95 Mouse
- Logitech K120 Keyboard

powerfull build xD, but you could have saved up a couple of € if you had gone AMD ^^

Yeah I could have. I was thinking about getting a 7970 but then I thought what's the point when the 9000 series cards are coming out. If I build something it should at least be the latest parts. So instead of going with AMD I just went with the 770.

Hell yeah got my h100i last week, one tip. The backplate has plastic on it. LEAVE the plastic on there, it is on there to keep from shorting your motherboard. I cut mine off originally and had to tape it back on lol.

Haha! Thank you for telling me that xD Now I won't screw that up :)

Remember to first do a test build. I suggest you to use the stock cooler that comes with the CPU. To see if it boots up, to know what you need for that is pretty simple.

If you do not have the option to get 99% alcohol! You could use the corsair cooler aswell, but you have to remove it - when you install the motherboard into your case.

If you have not watched Linus his build guides yet, ill link it here! It's very detailed! And this will help you good with the build.

Goodluck with the build, looks very solid! And im very jealous!

NZXT Phantom windowed, Asus Z77 Sabertooth, Intel 2600K, Noctua NH-D14, EVGA 780 Classified, Crucial Ballistic Tactical, Crucial M4 128GB + Samsung 850 EVO, Corsair RM850, Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty Peripherals: Sennheiser HD598, FinalMouse Classic, SteelSeries Qck Heavy, Ducky Shine Zero (MX Brown), AOC G2460PF & Qnix QX2710

I just got (literally got it yesterday) the Black & Orange version of the Phantom 410, trust me you won't be dissapointed, so much room to work with, you can afford to be slight messy behind the motherboard (the case won't bulge as long as you do minor cable management behind there).

My Build

GPU: MSI GTX 1080 ARMOUR | CPU: i7 9700k | Ram: 16gb 3200mhz Motherboard: ASUS Maximus XI Gene | Storage: 2x 1TB NVME 1x 500GB NVME 1x 120GB NVME | Case: Corsair 570X

If you do not have the option to get 99% alcohol!

I know about some people that used Vodka, alcohol from fruit (cheap) and stuff like that. but they always use some cloth.

Linus strictly uses 99% alcohol, but than wipes it with woilet paper and his T-shirt. Interesting.
