Sorry to necro an old thread but has there ever been any consideration of running a group buy on this? IE getting up to like 1000 units to bring the price down? I'm sure there are quite a few people that would want something like this. I'd buy 2 if it was around $500 each instead of ~$1200.

 

Could even be a LLT run thing. I'm sure there are some improvements Linus would make after using it for the past few years.

I should add that one obvious design change I would make would be to the 'fill port' that was used in the ltt build. It's creation seems to involve a fair amount of machining and even welding. If I were to redesign this portion to work with a standard EKWB reservoir and simplify it implementation i think it should shave some of the cost down. I'm also wondering if it would make sense to guage the sheet metal down a bit to save cost and weight, and perhaps lien the inside with a mass loaded vinyl?
