Headphone and DAC combo?

TechLoad Network
Go to solution Solved by Jacona,

He's going to be using it on a custom built PC, so wouldn't he need a DAC in order to remove any hissing from the PC?

If he's using non-shit modern components, then there might not be any hissing.

I think you should wait to see how his computer turns out before proceeding to the audio equipment.

My brother is looking for a good headphone and DAC combo. He plans to use this for his music production. He prefers closed back headphones. His budget is around 200$ for headphones, and 100-200 for the DAC. Any recommendations?

Pretty sure you mean "amp" because a DAC (digital to analog converter) cannot drive a headphone. Or speakers.

I'd say something like the Sennheiser HD280 Pro. No amp necessary.

Shure SRH440 and 840 are also popular options for production.

Sure 440 with 840 pads. Also doesn't need an amp.

For some reason I thought the 840 earcups were a bit bigger than the 440, but if the pads fit then cool.

I think HM5 pads might also fits.
