FPS DROPS AFTER 1/2 an hour of gaming

Teechan
Go to solution Solved by Manakahofski,

Also, if this is any help i found another forum talking about the same problem you have.

TO BE CLEAR

I DIDNT SAY THE FOLLOWING: So i had the same problem like you. At first everything ran very smoothly and without any fps drops. I played assassins creed black flag with 60 fps and league of legends with 110 fps. But then suddenly it became like unplayable. The fps dropped on AC to 10 and in league of legends to 30 it was really annoying to deal with it. I went to the web for help. And i found someone mention MALWAREBYTES to scan your pc. I did a quick scan and found 3 THREATS:

PUP.Optional.bandoo - from iLividsetup
PUP.Optional.bandoo - from iLividsetup (yes i had 2 of them)
PUP.Optional.softonic.A - from softonic downloader for video.

These 3 files were in my downloads map and were not really hidden. But my pc started to work fine again after i did the scan and had them removed.

FPS drops harshly after half an hour or light and heavy gaming, how can i fix this?

I was playing a csgo game which i normally get around 110+ fps on high settings and after a while, fps started to stutter and drop to around the 30's and stays there.

However, after a restart of my PC, this issue occurs again (normal then after a while drops to 30's). I've tried running Malware Bytes, lowering settings, setting launch option as (-novid -nod3d9ex -threads 4 -high) and also reinstalling CSGO, cleaning my system and updating drivers but problem still occurs. Recently i have gotten an error saying: Display driver stopped responding and has recovered and had occurred many times. This issue does not only occur in CSGO also in many other games that i play such as (league of Legends).

Specs:

CPU - i5-4690

GPU - Asus Strix GTX750ti (stock settings) (temperatures were normal) (normal clock speed)

RAM - 8gb DDR3

Operating System - Windows 10 Pro (64bit)

Geforce Driver (Version 359.06) (release date: 12/1/2015)

PSU - 750W

STORAGE - 1 x SSD and 1 x HDD

Sounds a little like thermal throttling, what temps does your GPU / CPU get to??

EDIT: Also remember to follow your topics!

i doubt it, because my GPU temps are below 60C and CPU temps are below 65C. I don't think its a thermal throttling problem, it must be a driver problem

CPU throttling plays a big part in gaming too.

sounds like an unstable card, but since younare running at stock it shouldn't be the problem.

Try reinstalling your drivers.

You cant disable throttling.

Its a feature hard coded into thw cpu and gpu that protects it from heat damage.

You can however let your gpu run at higher temps than recommended using software

I already tried overclocking it using MSI Afterburner, still the same issue.

Should i consider factory resetting my pc or is it a hardware problem?

I don't think overlocking was gonna help you... Probably just a driver problem, reinstall drivers and if the problem persist maybe dig a bit deeper, (at that point despite what temps are id still assume its throttling)
