The best SSD?

As an electronics student I don't care if the SSD is manufactured Corsair, Kingston, SanDisk, Samsung etc.

I want to know who is the best flash memory manufacturer and what model uses what memory. 

Hynix is long in the RAM game, do they have SSD Flash? Samsung is well tried, but they spend too much money in advertising, so quality is questionable for me.

OCZ uses Toshiba chips, specifically the ARC series. Seems legit.

I am limited to SATAII, so speed does not matter, just needs to be 300MB/s+

Got any recommendations?

Crucial BX100 or Samsung 650 would be perfect for your situation.

 

Both Crucial and Samsung make their own chips so they are by far the most reliable.

a samsung 850 pro/evo is a good choice.

Samsung flash is probably the best around at the moment and so are the SSD's they make.

Seeing Samsung's marketing scheme does not leave with a lot of confidence.

i've built systems for family with them and never had a problem

they are great ssds. worth it if you can get the pro edition. they are EXTREMELY reliable. if you want an ssd that will last a long time, samsung is worth the money

Samsung without a doubt has the best nand on the market these days.

 

For ram/vram and flash memory they are top of the line.

 

Intel uses micron's flash, which is technologically inferior to Samsung's, BUT Intel's controllers are the beast, and arguably better than Samsung's, esp for the enterprise market.

 

 

BTW for Sata3 (SATA II), literally every consumer ssd on the market will do. I tend then to recommend cost efficient options like Crucial (micron) M500/M550/M600/BX100/MX200.
