I know this may sound really weird, but I have an empty shelf and would like to have PC Parts there, e.g. GPUs, CPUs, Mobos, PSUs, RAM etc. But I doubt I'll be using them for builds (I think having a shelf of PC Parts is sexy AF) so I was wondering if you guys know of any places where you can buy dead/old/cheap PC Parts that will fit the bill?

I understand this may be a strange request but... I'm a weirdo ;)

Follow you threads.

Look at sites like Craigslist or similar, you can find lots of old/used parts there.

I have about 5 boxes of old parts. I get mine from work but I do occasionally pick something up from eBay for benchmarking.

Computer repair stores! (Private owned ones) we have so much stuff that comes in for recycling and most places will be more than happy to give the stuff to you if you ask (slip them a $10 bill and they will give you it all :P)

I was just wondering, do you have any recommendations for a GPU that I could find for cheap that looks a'ight? I was looking at the 750 ti since it looks pretty good but I wanted to know if there's any other GPUs that will be cheap (sort of) and sexy?

I want a 8800 for a potato build im working on. But have to recover from my CPU purchase yesterday before I can. Also have to figure out why my potato won't talk to the outside world.

Wish we had a used computer parts store here in Vegas :(

Thanks! I made it myself. The inspiration is the competition between Nvidia and AMD and how GODDAMN hard it is to pick just one. That's why I don't get fanboys. They make no sense to me.

Completely agree.

On topic, is there a used PC parts Mecca anywhere on the best coast of the US? I'd do ebay but that's so 2014. I'm used to the VW parts meets where you trade parts and the labor of small children for the things you need. Also, is there an accepted rule for the storage of old parts. I'm trying to convince my wife that the kitchen table is such.

Well, I could help you if I knew what the "best" coast of the US is. East or West? (South, maybe?)
