If there is a product I am thinking about getting I watch several youtube videos on it to see if it is really what I want, I also read all the one and 2 star reviews on amazon just to see if what some one is complaning about is something that would bother me lol.

Things only go where they are designed to fit. If you have to force it, there's probably something wrong. If it's not working, step back and think for a second. Ask for help if you have to.

to add on grounding:

1. static wrist straps are annoying. one way to effectively ground yourself is to plug in your PSU to your power outlet. the ground leads are still effective even if both the PSU and socket are switched off. to ground yourself, just grab the PSU case before touching anything else.

2. do not place any ungrounded electrical appliance on a electrically conductive surface. a work mat sounds like a good idea, but ultimately not essential.

3. do not touch any ungrounded electrical surface while it is still on. plastic shrouds okay. naked PCBs, not okay.

to add on troubleshooting, i never go to a job without bringing a bootable usb drive that contains either hirens boot cd, or gandalf winpe.

on connectivity, fuck wireless. the only device that you should connect via wifi are mobile devices like phones, tablets, and ultrabooks with no ethernet connection. connecting an ethernet cable from your main router to your room will save you a lot of grief. and if your room has a number of ethernet ready devices, there is nothing stopping you from using a cheap-ish router set as an access point. i get sick and tired of people living in high rise apartments complaining about network speed when they wont even bloody consider doing up a wired connection as a one time affair.

Tip number 1:DO NOT freak put if the pc does not turn on after building it. Check the psu and if it on.

I had a mini heart attack when this happened to me

I forgot to plug the CPU-4 pin in, I spent 4 hours of my life trying to figure out why my computer wasn't displaying anything, it was almost too much for my little fourteen year old to bare.

It's "Installing" not "Download onto" when putting an OS or programs onto your PC.

Also, once you figure out where the standoffs go, it's super helpful to use blue thread locker on them, as well as VGA standoffs.

A roll of twist tie is better than a bag of zip ties until you get everything laid out for the final time.

Shortcuts - that's something I always mention to a beginner. It's not always suitable for everyone, but can make some tasks seem much less daunting. One example: the Windows Key, such as using Windows Key-M to minimise all windows is a great feature.
