Monitor shows Bios splash screen, but then says "no signal" when logging into windows. Bad cable? Bad port?

LaboonTheWhale

Hey all

So my one monitor just decided to lose its signal while in use. I unplug the display port cable then try to plug it back in, the monitor recognizes that something is plugged in then says "no signal."

I then restart my PC and it shows the "press DEL or F2 to boot into bios" or whatever. and then when I go to the windows login, it goes back to "no signal."'

Whats going on?

Probably invalid resolution

Never changed it from 2560x1080.

Just randomly crapped out on me.

Has it ever cut out the signal when showing the BIOS splash screen?

Can you start Windows in Safe Mode?

Just see what uninstalling then reinstalling the drivers do

Probably an isolated issue

Can you start Windows in Safe Mode?

So if I unplug my HDMI cable going to my TV... the Display port monitor works... when I plug it back in, the display port says no signal. I dont understand.

Would it be possible to try the monitor using HDMI?

Okay. I think the signal is going to the TV after the system POSTs. Can you verify that by having the TV on when the system is POSTing?

If it loses signal after the splash screen goes away, it could be a software config with your GPU. Have you OC'd at all? If so, it could be applying the OC and causing a crash.

try to look at your tv input, and see whether your monitor has become secondary monitor and disabled.
